Required Amount of Hair Strands

A tuft of 1 cm thick and 2 to 3 cm long is usually enough. This gives enough space to nicely incorporate the hair into the jewelry. Baby hair often gives the most beautiful effect, because this hair is still very flexible and soft. The older the hair, the stiffer it becomes, which can make some designs look different. For example, designs such as the Wave and the Tree of Life have a different effect with baby hair than with children's hair or older hair. Baby hair bends more beautifully and forms more flexible lines, which gives a more subtle and elegant result in these designs. Older hair can certainly also be used; the effect will simply be slightly different, because stiffer hair bends less smoothly, but this can give the jewelry a unique character.

How to collect and pack

• Make a small ponytail with an elastic band and cut above the elastic band to keep the hair neatly together.

• If you don't have an elastic band, you can make a knot with some sewing thread. This will prevent the hair from coming loose or tangling.

• Make sure to use sharp scissors to avoid damaging the ends of your hair.

• Place the tied hairs on a piece of aluminum foil and carefully fold it closed, making sure the hairs cannot crease.

• Use a clear bag: Place the silver foil packet in a small, airtight ziplock bag or plastic wrap bag to protect the hair from moisture and dirt.

• Remove air: Gently squeeze the air out of the bag before closing it. This prevents the hair from tangling during transport.

• Label the bag: Write YOUR name and order number on a sticker and stick it on the bag, or use a highlighter to label the bag.
